
{"id":856,"date":"2020-09-25T16:06:31","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T07:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.izumo-hs.ed.jp\/en\/?p=856"},"modified":"2020-09-25T16:06:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T04:41:31","slug":"student-wins-top-award-at-english-speech-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.izumo-hs.ed.jp\/en\/student-wins-top-award-at-english-speech-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Wins Top Award at English Speech Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u3000\u3000On Sept. 14, the 13th Shimane English Speech Contest for High School Students was held at Ohda High School.\u00a0 11 students participated this year, and two of them were from Izumo High School.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u3000Moyu Konishi, from 1-1, talked about the importance of preserving beautiful seas, which she loves visiting with her beloved grandfather.\u00a0 She said, &#8220;We can start with small things.\u00a0 For instance, I use my own water bottle every day, not the plastic bottles.\u00a0 Also, I use a reusable shopping bag made by my grandmother.\u00a0 I believe such little things can make a difference.\u00a0 The first step we can take is simply to learn and be aware of this problem.&#8221;\u00a0 She called for action which any of us can do.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u3000Kazusato Fujiki, also from 1-1, talked about the seriousness of work situations in Japan.
