    Opened in Izumo as Shimane Women’s Teachers School

    Welcomed Ministry of Education and Culture and Governor of Shimane Prefecture
    who named school’s botanical hill as Kyu-cho-en or Hirata Botanical Garden

Imaichi Higher Women’s School

    Was affiliated to Shimane Prefectural Women’s Teachers School
  • 1923 March
    Became Shimane Prefectural Imaichi Higher Women’s School after Women’s
    Teachers School moved to Hamada.
  • 1948 April
    Two hundred fifty students were the final graduates.

Izumo Senior High School

    The school became coeducational and was newly named as Shimane Prefectural Izumo
    Senior High School
  • 1969 April
    Science and Mathematics Course was opened.
  • 1971 April
    The Part-time Division was set up and Domestic Science Course was opened.

    Nursing Course was opened in the part-time division.

    Nursing Course was closed.

    Was designated as Super Science High School by the Ministry of Education,
    Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

    Was designated as Super Global High School by the Ministry of Education, Culture,
